From South Africa

Hi all

Just a quick update to let you all know that we are healthy and well.
Arrived safely in SA with all our luggage, managed to get over the jet lag after about 1 week. We got to see the sights of Pretoria including the “Zoo” and “Wondercave”.

Have just spent the last 10 days in Lydenberg with Lynne’s cousin Rex. There were 25 people for Christmas all staying in his house and in tents in the garden. Was great to meet cousins on Lynne’s side. It was a very relaxed and ‘laid back’ time helping us to unwind.
Our highlight was staying for 3 days at the “Shack” where Lynne used to go with her family for Christmas each year when she was Robyn’s age-generated a lot of fond memories for her.
We are now heading down to Natal to spend time with our parents for the next 2 weeks before we head out to Kenya.
Hopefully once we are in Kenya we will have more regular access to the internet so will be able to post more frequently.

You may have seen that the recent elections in Kenya have stirred up some trouble.
We are waiting on God for guidance in this regard: we know that He has been in control of everything thus far so know that He has plans for us that will become more apparent with time.
Our travel tickets do give us the option of postponing our arrival in Kenya if that is God’s plan, although we only have to make this decision up to 24hrs before departure so we have time to watch the developments.

Please pray for peace to return to Kenya.

Love
David, Lynne, Robyn and Tim

Looks like you are having alot of fun down there. I would like to wonder about this Wondercave. Any cool features inside of it. Have fun on the beach and ocean, as it is summer down there.

Hi

We miss you but pray that you are having a blessed time with your family and friends. We watch with prayerful concern the unrest in Kenya and wonder just what the Lord will do to get you there? We know that He has it all figured out so there is no sense being worried about it!
We had an awesome Christmas here! We were with Frank's brother and family in Abby on 24th eve and Paiva's for Christmas Day. The Lord supplied the most beautiful snow fall that we had to shut off all the lights except the ones on the Paiva's deck and sit and watch His wonderous creation. They were such huge snow flakes. We came down the mountain in 2nd gear all the way but that was OK too. Then we baby sat the Sawastsky farm for 4 days and then it was New Years Eve. Back up to Paiva's with 8 adults and 19 children. New Years Day found us at Schuit's and then Procee's for a visit and then we baby sat so that Tera & Richard could go out for the evening. We just had Smith's 4 legged little girl for a few days while they went skiing at Sun Peaks. Roxy is such a sweetheat I could gladly keep her! So you see we have been busy dashing around too. Although I must say that I think the camping in the backyard with all the family would have been a blast! Hope you get some quality time with Mom, Lynne. Glad to hear that all your luggage arrived. Did you get your African Visa that you had to apply for over there? Your picture is front and center on the fridge so that we remember you often in prayer.
Love ya

Thanks for the update guys. Sounds like you had a wonderful Christmas! We have been thinking of you a lot the last week as so much is on the news about the unrest in Kenya. We have had patients stopping by the office worried about you. We pray all is well and continue to lift you up in prayer.

Hi Pages,
I'm here at school with Ethan and Mike doing an English test. (Tim, don't worry about it.) They say Hi. We have a really great bunch of Oden students this year. Robyn, there are 3 girls in your grade 4 class. They were nervous about going into your class yesterday, but now they are already having fun. We are all praying for you and the situation in Kenya...that God will guide you as to when to go into the country. God Bless you. We miss you.
